Sail Your Boat another Mile with High-Grade Marine Line Cutters

Every boat with an engine, power or sail, needs defense against both corrosion and propeller entanglement from man-made or natural hazards. SALCA (Sacrificial Anode Line Cutter Assembly) gives you both – a sacrificial anode or zinc plus a marine line cutter at a reasonable cost in one easy to use, affordable package.

You’ve got a typical zinc to protect you against corrosion just as you’re used to. Attached to the SACLA zinc is a stainless steel disc marine line cutter, ready to cut through line or weeds or nets or pretty much anything else that gets wrapped around your engine’s prop shaft. Combining the two makes for efficiency, and affordability.

On the SACLA, the zinc or anode is normal zinc and will gradually wear away just as you’d expect. The unit won’t spin and it takes several tons of weight to separate the zinc from the stainless steel cutting blade.

Installation is a snap and can be carried out underwater by your diver or boatyard – even if they’ve never seen a unit like it before. The unit comes in two halves that clamp securely on the shaft using either an Allen key or a flathead screwdriver.

The zinc has a cleverly designed inner radius for the most secure fit on the shaft. The zinc and the marine line cutter are pressed together using protruding head screws that still allow water-flow to the bearing if the unit is placed in a limited clearance area close to the strut.

We carry SACLA’s in many sizes, ranging from a shaft size of ¾ inch to 2-1/4 inches. Plus we’ve recently introduced sizes specifically for Beneteau sailboats. Prices range from less than $40.00 to just under $70.00.
